Fort Wayne Ballet Conservatory at the University of Saint Francis
The Fort Wayne Ballet Conservatory of Dance at the University of Saint Francis is an exciting partnership between USF and Fort Wayne Ballet. Four- and two-year undergraduate academic programs are available to prepare you for a professional career in dance. Practical experience in the form of classes in classical ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, tap, character, repertoire, dance history and theory, pedagogy and choreography, as well as performing in productions will be important to your learning experience.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts and the Associate of Arts in Dance feature a sound liberal arts core curriculum with a full range of dance styles that complement the essential basics of classical ballet.
Dance coursework is held at the facilities of Fort Wayne Ballet at the Auer Center for Arts & Culture, just two and a half miles east of campus. The ballet’s beautiful space in downtown Fort Wayne offers four new state-of-the-art rehearsal studios complete with sprung floors to help prevent injury and proper dance flooring (either marley or hardwood, depending on technique). The facilities also feature four large, mirrored dance studios that are equipped with barres, observation windows and pianos for live accompaniment.
The Auer Center for Arts & Culture is also home to an art gallery, coffee shop and bakery, comfortable lounge area and ample safe parking.
