As a Music Technology student, you’ll take courses in music appreciation, history, performance and musical instrument application. You will also be required to study a minimum of two instruments or voice. The School of Creative Arts (SOCA) at the University of Saint Francis structures its Music Technology programs in a way that will allow you to learn guitar or piano, study the history of rock ‘n’ roll and jazz, and participate in music clubs and bands to build on the theories and applications you learn in class.
The Guitar Ensemble allows SOCA’s many guitarists to perform as a group. The ensemble performs classical compositions and modern rock pieces on both acoustic and electric guitars.
The Jazz Ensemble performs music from all parts of the jazz repertoire. Additional instruction will help you fine-tune your jazz performances through regular ensemble rehearsals. As a member of the Jazz Ensemble, you will also perform as a quartet for USF and community functions.
Since the inception of the football program in 1998, we have grown our Cougar spirit. With each game and conference birth, our students rally and show their Cougar pride. USF is now recruiting for the USF Marching Band known as the USF Marching Pride. Join in the fun and root on your fellow Cougars!
University Singers is a collegiate choir that performs and rehearses a wide variety of music and styles throughout the year. University Singers will enable you to enhance your educational experience in the performing arts. If you would like to be involved in the experience and outreach service of music, you’re encouraged to join.
