Artistic Statement

“My goals and perspectives as an artist are continuing to evolve. My influences are vast and come from a variety of art forms that include Byzantine and Russian iconography as well as contemporary photography. However, I still consider myself a traditional draughtsman, feeling most comfortable with pencil in hand in front of an untouched piece of paper. I strive to incorporate symbolism, both spiritual and historical, into my compositions and I am continuing to mature my skills both technically and conceptually.”
