Computer Animation

The Computer Art animation concentration will allow you to explore and experiment with 2-D traditional animation, as well as 3-D computer animation. You will have the opportunity to create amazing works as an individual artist and within team production pipelines.


When you graduate, your demo reels and portfolios will illustrate a wide range of skills including animation, composing, editing, effects, graphics, lighting, modeling and texturing. This broad base of knowledge and wide range of abilities will make you an enticing candidate for prospective employers.

Student Awards

The School of Creative Arts Animation students’ work gets national and international recognition. Student animations and films have been shown in Chicago, California, New York, Canada, and Italy.

Animation students create professional work in a studio atmosphere. Every year, our students work in teams to create animations that they submit to film festivals across the country. Students continually build their resumes with professional experiences.


An internship for senior animation majors Jenni McKibben and Alyssa Swearingen at WFWA-TV 39 in Fort Wayne led to their production, “Cool Science,” which won Best Educational Short at the San Diego International Kids Film Festival (SDIKFF) 2014.
