Graphic Design

A degree in Graphic Design from the School of Creative Arts (SOCA) at the University of Saint Francis will prepare you for an exciting career in advertising and graphic design. This program will help you develop your artistic skill and professional discipline in the world of visual communication and presentation.

With concentrations in web design, illustration and photography, you’ll be able to shape your studies specifically for the career of your dreams.

In the Graphic Design program, you will benefit from:

  • Regular portfolio reviews with faculty
  • Internships with professional design agencies
  • Access to secured facilities 24/7
  • Strong relationships with the professional advertising association
  • Numerous gallery and lecture programs
  • Travel abroad opportunities

You’ll also be able to take advantage of opportunities that promote and support the development of leadership and organizational skills. For example, you can get involved with Insignia Advertising, USF’s official college chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). As an AAF member, you’ll be able to attend the local ADDY Awards competition, network with area professionals and enter the Student American Advertising Awards Competition (just be prepared to win). In recent years, SOCA students have won numerous awards and have gone on to win the district competition before moving on to the national level.

Check out all that hardware! USF School of Creative Arts students won 35 Ad Fed Honors awards from the Advertising Federation of Fort Wayne, including the Student Best in Show award, which went to USF’s Chelsea Holland.

Each spring, you’ll have opportunities to meet with area designers who will critique your portfolio and offer valuable insight about the marketplace and the profession. Many students have been offered internships from these sessions.
